Chula Vista California Payday Loans

With a population of an estimated 231,305, Chula Vista is the 14th most populated city in California. In 1542, the Spanish discovered the area and claimed the land. In 1845, they granted the land to John Forster. He was the son in law of a Mexican governor. After the Mexican-American War, the United States claimed California and the land that had been granted to Forster. In 1868, the land was sold to three brothers for $30,000. They built up the area for farming and cities. Soon railroads were built and a dam was built for farmers to get water. Citrus became the main crop until the freeze of 1913. Then there was a drought in 1914 and 1915 and floods in 1916 washed away railroads and killed twenty people.

By the time of the Great Depression, the citrus fields were again a major income for the city. In 1931, the lemon orchards brought in $1 million. That all changed during World War II. The relocation of Rohr Aircraft Corporation brought thousands of jobs to the area and the citrus economy became almost extinct due to the need for land to house the people moving to work for Rohr. And Chula Vista has kept growing from there.

The city plans to build homes outside of one of it attractions, the United States Olympic Training Center. The training center helps develop athletes in archery, rowing, canoe/kayaking, soccer, softball, field hockey, tennis, track and field, and cycling.

Another attraction is the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre. It seats 10,000 in reserved seating and 10,000 on the lawn.

Chula Vista also has plenty of shopping within the city. San Diego and Tijuana are just minutes away.
