Show Low, Arizona is a small city located in Navajo County. The city has an estimated population of 11,763. The city of Show Low was established in 1870 and later officially incorporated in 1953. Show Low is also known for being the home of actor Dan Deublein, who played a role on the television series Beverly Hills 90210.
This great city is named after a famous poker game between C.E. Cooley and Marion Clark, who did not feel that the town was big enough for both of them to reside in. After both men agreed that the winner of a game of cards would determine who could stay on the land Marion Clark said, "if you show low, you win." C.E. Cooley drew a two of clubs allowing him to win the land, which at the time was a one hundred acre ranch that would then become known as "Show Low." In remembrance of this historic poker game the city's main street was named "Deuce of Clubs."
With approximately 3,000 households and more than 11,000 residents Show Low has established an adequate school district to suffice it's residents. The majority of residents are a part of the Show Low Unified School District and the remaining portion of the city attends schools in the Blue Ridge Unified School District. The city's schools include an elementary, intermediate, junior high, and high school. There is also a college available as Northland Pioneer College has their White Mountain Campus located in Show Low, Arizona.
