Sedona Arizona Payday Loans
Sedona, Arizona is named after Sedona Miller Schnebly, who was married to the town's first postmaster. Schnebly was known for extraordinary hospitality. Sedona is a small city in the state of Arizona with an estimated population of 11,220. The city is located in northern Verde Valley and rests in Coconino and Yavapai counties.
Sedona is most known for the various red sandstone formations known as the "Red Rocks of Sedona." The Red Rocks have made it into many portraits with the various colors of orange and red that glow with the southern sun. With the gorgeous rocks and stunning sunsets Sedona was the perfect setting for many old western films, including the 1950 film Broken Arrow.
The ancestors of the Yavapai Native Americans first settled the city of Sedona. Their ancestors were known as descendents of the First Lady, only daughter of the Lady of the Pearl. According to the Yavapai creation story the Lady of the Pearl arrived in Sedona during the great 40-day flood surviving due to being secured in a log with a woodpecker. As the floodwaters cleared she was freed from the log by the woodpecker and may her way to the mountains to fall in love with the sun. As the Lady of the Pearl returned to Sedona she had a daughter that would become known as the "First Lady."
In 1876 the Yavapai-Apache people were forced to leave the Verde Valley and march to the San Carlos Indian Reservation during the winter season. Those that survived the 180-mile march settled on the reservation and only 200 people from the Yavapai-Apache tribe returned to the Verde Valley area.
