Paradise Valley, Arizona is one of the smallest cities in Maricopa County with an estimated population of 14,558. Home to twelve luxurious resorts Paradise Valley is one of the most popular cities in the state of Arizona for tourists to visit. The city is known for its hospitality to tourists and also has a great reputation for its exclusive real estate. Most homes are valued around one million dollars, which is considered low cost as many properties exceed five million dollars.

Paradise Valley is often times confused with the small village located in northeast Phoenix, which shares the same name. The village of Paradise Valley is home to Paradise Valley Community College, Paradise Valley High School, and the Paradise Valley Hospital. Despite the confusion residents of the city actually attend the schools registered in the Scottsdale, Arizona school district. The village is accessible to Paradise Valley city residents, however it is a significant distance as it is in the northern area of Phoenix.

Paradise Valley has been called home by many notable people including: Charles Barkley, Randy Johnson, Eric Gagne, Grant Hill, Jenna Jameson, Alice Cooper, Stevie Nicks, Mike Tyson, Dan Quayle, and most notable Barry M. Goldwater. The city dedicated a bronze statue as a memorial for Goldwater as he was a well-known resident, state senator, presidential candidate, passionate photographer, and well-known friend to the Native American Community.

The Goldwater statue was sculpted by Arizona artist Joe Beeler, and is located at the corner of Lincoln Drive and Tatum Boulevard.
