Nogales, Arizona is the state's largest border town. With an estimate population of 20,833, it is the county seat of Santa Cruz County and borders Nogales, Sonora, Mexico.
The name Nogales is Spanish for walnut, which is a reference to the large walnut trees that used to stand. Only few are left.

Nogales's economy is mainly based on agribusiness and produce distributors from large Mexican farms. More than 60% of taxes come from shoppers who have crossed the Mexican border.

Nogales, Arizona has much to offer its citizens and visitors. It is the location of Nogales International Airport. There are nine parks, a museum, an art gallery, a movie theater, four recreational centers, four swimming pools, eight sports fields, a library, six tennis courts, and four golf courses.

Nogales has 200 sites listed in the National Register of Historic Sites including Santa Cruz Courthouse. On the top of Santa Cruz Courthouse sits a statue of Lady Justice. The Lady Justice is normally blindfolded and holding the scales of justice. It symbolizes that justice is blind. However, the Lady Justice on the top of the Santa Cruz Courthouse is not blindfolded.

Nogales was also the location for the movie version of Oklahoma! It was chosen because it looked most like the turn of the century than the actual state of Oklahoma did.
