Cottonwood Arizona Payday Loans

Known as "The Old Town City" Cottonwood is a small city located in Yavapai County Arizona. This small city has an estimated population of 11,171. Charles Willard founded the city of Cottonwood in 1879. Soon after Willard settled the land many people quickly joined him and Cottonwood became a small farming community. Parts of Cottonwood and the Verde River have large amounts of cacti, native grasses, mesquite, and rabbit bush. The land was a perfect setting for settlers to hunt quail and rabbits.
Cottonwood started to develop into a well-known town around 1915 as many citizens from surrounding cities saw the opportunity and lawlessness potential. The typical settler of Cottonwood was interested in owning their own land, owning their own business, and generally unsatisfied with a strict law system.

Bootlegging was extremely common in town and as it was not seen as an illegal act it attracted many new residents from cities outside of Arizona. The town was rumored to have the best bootlegging alcohol for hundreds of miles. That rumor quickly spread and Cottonwood continued to develop into an area of non-law abiding citizens.

By the 1920's the town was booming and became known as the "biggest little town in Arizona." New residents were arriving each week and local businessmen were prospering quite heavily.

The city of Cottonwood continues to be a great place to live. There are numerous shops, hotels, restaurants, and beautiful areas for site seeing. Despite the modern updates to this historic town, many of the buildings have a false front to give tourists a feel of how the town looked in the days of the old west.
