Buckeye Arizona Payday Loans
Buckeye, Arizona is considered to be the biggest "small town" of Arizona. A 2006 Census estimated Buckeye to be home to 29,615 residents. But that says nothing compared to the town's growth of 192% since 2000.
The founder of the settlement was Thomas Newt Clanton. He moved from Iowa to Arizona for better health. In his party were six men, three women, and ten children. The Buckeye Canal, named after the state of Ohio, was completed in 1886. The first post office was established in 1888. In the same year, a man named Bucky O'Neill established the Buckeye Irrigation Company. Malin M. Jackson, one of the founding members of the town, originally named the town Sidney after his Ohio hometown. But due to the importance of the canal, the name was officially changed to Buckeye in 1910.
The Arizona Eastern Railroad was a major contributor to Buckeye's growth. The first car came in 1911, a steam rail line connected to Phoenix in 1912, and a state highway connected in 1915. The town was incorporated in 1926.
Because Buckeye is surrounded by five interstates, home to one airport, and has a railroad, the growth is expected to be phenomenal over the next decade. Planned developments of over 240,000 homes make the expected population to reach over 100,000 by 2010. With Phoenix just 35 miles away, it is a commuter city.
